Nickomo's blog

Last night of term this week

Yes, which means pub night afterwards. Thank you Fran for a great term, I've really enjoyed singing with you.

Nickomo back for a night

Fran came back with a lurgy from Spain so Nickomo stepped in for the evening, and it was great - thanks very much, Nickomo.

Fab evenings with Fran

Ooh, it's so good to be back at NOH. The last two Thursdays have been great, though numbers were down this week - probably because of the gorgeous weather. We made good progress with Coope, Boyes & Simpson's 'Roll me in your arms', revisited three songs by Helen Yeomans all with 'love' or 'lovely' in them and finished by nearly cracking the Hombalas in 'Gentle the Land' - we'll get there!

Back to New Oriel Hall

It was a nostalgic return to the Friends' Meeting House last week but I'll be very glad to get back to NOH this week!

This Thursday 6th May singing at Friends Meeting House

Don't forget New Oriel Hall is a polling station this week so we'll be meeting in the basement of the Friends Meeting House in York Street. It'll be a trip down memory lane for some of us - BCS started there all those years ago.

Great first night of Summer term

We all had a lovely time with Fran, enjoyed her warm-ups and did pretty well with two songs: Why do fools fall in love and Gentle the Land. She was a bit disappointed we don't do chocolate biscuits at break time!

New Summer Term starts Thursday 29th April

Fran Bolton will be leading us (see 'Our Leaders' page).

Choir Convention, Bristol, April 2010

40 or so of us managed to put on a pretty good show - Nickomo tells us both songs will be on the Convention CD.

The Choir Convention is looming

50 of us will be performing at the Convention on Sunday 25th April at St George's, Brandon Hill, Bristol.
